Slab Building 101

Join us for a one-day workshop with Shelby Charlesworth, where you will learn basic to intermediate slab-building skills. This is a skill-building workshop that gives students the opportunity to learn a new technique or improve their existing experience. This class will focus on creating consistent slabs, properly cutting shapes, and attaching them together. The focus will also be on building small to medium forms, such as tea light holders and slab vase wall hangings. April 18th @ 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM: Our instructor will start with a demonstration on how to roll out slabs and cut out your desired shapes/forms. You will receive enough clay to make one medium object or two small objects. What's included: -Clay -Tools -Coloured underglazes -Glazing and firing What you'll learn: -How to create slab-built pieces using slab-building techniques. -How to roll out slabs and cut out shapes to create your piece. -How to construct small to medium forms with slabs.
