4-Week Beginner Course (APRIL)

Service Description

Learn the basics with us on Sundays! This four-week course is structured to help you develop basic ceramic hand-building skills and to bring your ideas to fruition. We will cover hand-building techniques, including coil, pinch, slab, and template creation. This course will focus on learning and building skills, so the number of pieces you make in each class will vary. Each class is three hours long to allow sufficient time for the class demo and for creating and troubleshooting techniques. This course will focus on creating functional and decorative work. Pieces will be created with one type of clay and decorated with colored underglazes during the final week. Clay, tools, and other materials are provided. Week One: Intro to Pinch Pots Week Two: Intro to Coil Building Week Three: Intro to Slab Building Week Four: Intro to Underglaze Decoration. Your pieces will be glazed and fired after course completion.
