Service Description

This is the first of two sessions. This pass is perfect if you need more time to complete your pieces. Since this is the first session, you’ll need to choose a day at least a week in advance and up to two months out to return and finish your work by purchasing a 'paint 2/2' pass. We use colored underglazes to paint your pieces during the Paint 2/2 session. Mayco Underglazes are much more vibrant, and POP once fired. Class Agenda:  -Students arrive (at least 10 minutes before open studio time). -Our instructor will begin the session with a short demo showcasing a few hand-building techniques to help beginners get started. If you have no clay experience, arrive early to watch the instructor's demo. -Our instructor will go over how to paint your work using our colored slips. You will have approximately 30 minutes to paint and finish your piece(s). -Our instructor will go over how to clean your stations. Students are expected to clean up after themselves and put their work away before leaving for the night.   Studio Policies: -Clay is not transferable between sessions. -Unfortunately, we can’t allow participants to take leftover clay home. -One ticket admits one person. -We will not glaze small pieces (less than 2 inches in diameter). -We cannot repair broken work. We may be able to fire broken work if it can be easily glued back together afterward. If broken work is beyond repair, we will email you.   FIRING YOUR WORK: We will fire and glaze your pieces. Ceramics go through TWO firings, which takes time. OUR TURNAROUND TIME IS CURRENTLY 4-5 WEEKS We cannot guarantee that your pieces will survive our transportation and firing process. Clay is an extremely fragile medium, and we have to transport everything to our kiln for firing. To avoid your pieces breaking during this process: -Avoid making anything extremely thin or precarious, or adding tiny bits that stick out. -Ensure pieces are properly and securely attached. -We will notify you via email once your pieces are fired and ready for pick-up.  As a private studio, we are only open to the public during scheduled class and event times. Our pickup email will include specific days and times for picking up your work. We also have a pick-up cabinet. We will provide details on how and when you can access it to pick up your work outside our studio hours.
